When it comes to hanging out and enjoying the entertainment scene and night life, there are very few places in the world that matches Hong Kong. We are not really talking about clubbing life and discotheques yet but more so about having a nice time with your colleagues and friends and just enjoying a night out over drinks and at the coolest place in the country, and perhaps in the world.

While there are many places you could go when the office day ends, Lan Kwai Fong and Wanchai would be the safest bet to start but if you are looking for a real place (and with class) then the Aqua Spirit could well be a good start. This place is typically a restaurant where many come here to dine but will eventually stay for drinks after that where the DJs will then start the club up (during weekends). This place is renowned to be quite a looker where it has a great choice of food on its set.

At Drop, you will like the exclusivity of the place. It is very much a guest list oriented club cum pub. It is located in Soho on Hollywood Road and because it is quite an A-List place, it might be a bit more costly than many other similar places. Basically, Drop is a club and you get quite a lot of loud music here the later it is into the night.

Felix is located in Salisbury Road at the Peninsular which is known to be one of the most posh places around. There is a restaurant here that serve Pacific Rim dishes, there is a wine bar as well as a dance floor they call the Crazy Box. If you get into this place you get one of the best seats in the city as it overlooks the skyline of nigh here over Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and Victoria Harbour.

At v-13 in Old Bailey Street Soho, this is where you can find one of the widest vodka choices around. In fact, they have more than 100 varieties so you will need a few visits to try them all. There is the chilli vodkas, the wasabi vodkas and such usually the place to go among the younger crowd before they head out to the bigger and louder clubs. Otherwise, get drunk and go home (need not be alone though).

The nightlife in Hong Kong is said and perceived to be one of the most vibrant, dynamic and hottest around the region if not the world. While they might not be as big as that of Ministry of Sound or Ibiza, the Hong Kong clubbing scene has its own attraction and persona.

Where this is concerned, there are certain clubs which are more exclusive than others so you would need to make reservations prior to going there. Dragon-I is known to be one of the top clubs in Hong Kong. This is known to have the ‘hottest dance floor’ in the country. It is known to have one of the nicest interior designed spaces of an East meet West character. Located above the party areas of Lan Kwai Fong, there is a guest list before you are allowed in so you would need to make prior arrangements first. If you get in, then the live birds in cages might be an interesting sight although that has not gone too well with the nature bodies.

As Lan Kwai Fong is one of the premier clubbing hot spots of Hong Kong’s night life, you could also get into Finds which is a more simple and less sophisticated club. Finds however is not the typical tub-thumping club like atmosphere where you would find the clubbers here to be more chatty and of the more mature age group.

For you dance maniacs, Volar is an ideal place to go because it is known to be the dance venue. This is where they bring in DJs from both the local and international scene and spins the decks throughout the whole night. The dancefloor here always filled and it comes more alive after midnight. A cool place where you need not be seen to much as it is all about the house and the music.

In M1NT, this is where the club is exclusively targeted to the rich and the famous somewhat. That means that it would be privilege to be in this club which got its reputation from London. Usually the public figures and the rich come here but there are certain nights when they are open to non-members you will still need to be in the guest list, which is quite hard unless you do know someone.

The game of Paintball is one of the most loved team games in the world today. This is because the game requires a lot of precision strategizing, team work and surely a lot of physical agility in order to enjoy the game. The tactical moves and the whole idea of staying ‘alive’ gives the game the attraction it needs and is surely one of the most loved ‘extreme sports’ around.

The same reputation is being applied in Hong Kong where Paintball is fast growing into mainstream sports like badminton, table tennis and football. There has been more paintball courts mushrooming in around Hong Kong recently providing the venue, facilities and equipments for Hong Kong youth to enjoy their game like Paintball Headquarters which have been established since 2002.

Paintball markers
In Hong Kong, the Cal.0.68 paintball markers which are used in other countries are not allowed hence you would need to adhere to the regulations here. Most paintball centers will use the Cal.0.4 paintball markers while some have manufactured their own.
Common games

As with most countries in the region and the world, you can enjoy paintball according to the most common rules and game play. Here you can indulge in the ‘Elimination’ game which is the most straightforward rule of eliminating your enemies. The ‘Capture the Flag’ rules is another common favourite where you have to try every means possible to obtain the flag of your opponents. Other common games loved here include ‘Save the President’, ‘Kill the Leader’, ‘Terminator’ and ‘Attack and Defend’.

Market rates
The usual rates for a game of paintball in Hong Kong depends largely of where you are and what you are looking for but it usually is around HK$200 to HK$350 per adult which include gears and 100 to 150 paintballs. There will usually a student rate which will be lesser and would be about HK$150 to HK$200 depending on the center you are playing at. To encourage more youth to take up the sport, the rate for students would usually come with more paintballs usually would be 50 more than the standard adult rates.
As with most paintball centers, one would need to be of a certain height so you would need to be around 125 to 130 cm tall at least. Children below 8 years old are usually not allowed to play. There are also group rates where there is a minimum players requirement of about 6 and maximum of 50 players.
